Vera Iwankiw, Esq.

As an Attorney of Counsel at Silverpine Law, Ms. Iwankiw represents individuals and businesses in employment-related disuptes concerning unpaid wages, prohibited competition, misappropriation of trade secrets, discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, and breach of employment agreements. She also counsels clients regarding employee policies, handbooks, terminations, severance, and independent contractor arrangements.
Prior to joining Silverpine Law, Ms. Iwankiw was a Senior Associate at the Chicago headquarters of Sidley Austin LLP, a global law firm that consistently scores among the top 5% in AmLaw rankings. At that firm, her practice focused on employment-related litigation and negotiation. She also investigated internal corporate complaints regarding employee fraud, and presented her findings to the Department of Justice.
Ms. Iwankiw earned her law degree cum laude at the University of Chicago, which ranks among the top five law schools in the entire country. She earned her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from the University of Illinois. While in college, she interned at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago, the highest-ranking law firm in the country under the AmLaw system.
Ms. Iwankiw is a licensed member of the bar in Illinois, with admission to DC and Virginia pending. She is proficient working in the Ukrainian language and has basic ability in Spanish. She has dedicated hundreds of hours applying her legal skills in humanitarian endeavors, including work for the International Refugee Assistance Project, the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights, and the International Human Rights Clinic in Tunisia and Pakistan.
